The Kansas State University Herbarium is a research natural history museum of dried plant specimens numbering nearly 200,000. The collection has a regional focus on the Great Plains of central North America, and is particularly significant for its historical holdings from the late 1800s.

The Herbarium is housed within the Division of Biology and also receives support from the Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station.

As of 2012, label data from over 140,000 specimens (including all Kansas vascular plants and bryophytes) have been databased, and databasing is ongoing. We are currently preparing images of all of the Kansas bryophyte species from specimens in the herbarium.
